new honda accord

last weekend there is a roadshow which introducing the brand new honda acccord at sunway pyramid phase 2. i was there with parents and my dad wanna have a look on the new accord.

honda has launched 3 variants of new honda accord which are:

2.0Vti
Max. Power:
156PS (115kW) @ 6,300rpm
Max. Torque:
189Nm (19.3kg-m) @ 4,300rpm

2.4Vti-L
Max Power:
180PS (133kW) @ 6,500rpm
Max. Torque:
222Nm (22.6kg-m) @ 4,300rpm

3.5V6
Max. Power:
275PS (202kW) @ 6,200rpm
Max. Torque:
339Nm (34.6kg-m) @ 5,000rpm

the 3.5V6 version has a most powerful engine ever built for a honda accord. also, it has a cool feature on this engine which Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). according to Honda, "The new VCM increases high power performance and enhances fuel economy by partially halting the action of some cylinders through freely controlled engine displacement based on the driving pattern."

this is how VCM works!

to minimize the the noise produce from this VCM, which according to Honda, "Integral to the VCM, comprehensive Noise, Vibration and Harshness systems dampen the roar of the engine, as the engine switches between three, four to six cylinder operations. Special rubber floating mounts, acoustic roof lining, and hood insulators work together to minimise the intrusion of sound into the cabin for a quieter driving experience."

the new honda accord also have VGR (Variable Gear Ratio Steering System) which "responds faithfully to the driver's intention. It gives precise and good responsive steering manoeuvrability in sharp cornering, parking spaces and when changing lanes at high speeds."

honda also improve the suspension of the new accord. "The improved double wishbone front suspension stabilises braking and steering response. While the new compact in-wheel Multi-link Rear Suspension reduces road noise, vibration and harshness with a 40% increase in rigidity." which according to Honda.

a big car like this also has improve aerodynamic which improves fuel mileage and reduces interior noise from undercarriage air turbulence.

ok let's move on to the real pic i got from the roadshow.

real life 2.0Vti SOHC

see the paddle shift (only for 2.4Vti-L and 3.5 V6) and this feature a Shift Hold Control
which reduces unnecessary gear shift-up in cornering and supplies acceleration immediately after making a turn. The paddle shift system allows the driver to change gears manually without removing hands from the steering wheel.

the price (2.0Vti - RM141,800.00 OTR, 2.4Vti-L - RM171,800.00 OTR, 3.5 V6 - RM249,800.00 OTR)

overall i would say the built quality is good but it is slightly overpriced. if i were to buy 1, i would choose 2.4Vti-L or 3.5 V6 as 2.0 for such car would be underpowered due to the weight of the car. and you must live with the fuel consumption as it gonna kill you if you do not have a deep pocket!

not to forget the honda ladies (my fav.. hehe..)

genting trip

after been to genting so many times but never really blog about it, i guess i shall at least blog a little about it. this trip (as usual together with my parents and bb) is a little bit different previous trips to genting, this time, dad rented a better hotel room (finally no more bloody small bathroom!) for free by using Genting Point. Here are shots from the hotel.

RPK being ordered to surrender!

the famous Raja Petra Kamarudin has been ordered to surrender himself. at first the hearing was jalan duta magistrate but it is then transferred to session court in petaling jaya. it is nearby my house here and i wanted to go there and show some support but due to some reasons (tomorrow having my final paper for this sem and there will be no parking space for me! :( ), i was not able to do so. however, i will continue supporting RPK! according to the info, many supporters turned up to show their supports to RPK which include fellow bloggers and opposition MPs. also, there was a donation campaign in order to help RPK to bail him out. the response from the public was so great that they even have collected the fund in excess. the campaign is called Walk with RPK: One Ringgit One Person. please read here for more information and pictures!

may the support from the RAKYAT help RPK through!

they woke me up this morning!

today is sunday, it is a day that i could wake up a little bit later than any other day in a week. however, something big happened this morning at the compound of my lovely neighbourhood in PJ (which was just downstairs, i am stayin at the first floor). it was a function held by the Democratic Action Party. it is supposed to be a function to thank the voters for their supports and meet the voters. also, something really meaningful happened on this function. please read here for more information. among the DAP leaders present were YB Tony Pua (MP for Petaling Jaya Utara), YB Charles Santiago (MP, Klang),Dr Cheah Wing Yin (ADUN, Damansara Utama)

an offical notice which i could found this morning. (i thought notice need to be put up a few days before the function right? no wonder i have no idea about this function until they woke me up this morning)

people are surrounding the YBs

YB Tony Pua

closer look of YB Tony Pua

even closer..

YB Charles Santiago (the guy on the right with the back facing me) and Dr Cheah Wing Yin (the guy who speaking to the pink lady)

actually i was suprised that the YBs are dressed up casually and they mix with the public politely and friendly (which it can be hardly seen any BN MP*spit* can behave like them!). they should keep up the good job. also, i think Malaysians have so far made the right choice that cause the political tsunami on the March 8.

however, MPs and state assemblymen from the Pakatan Rakyat should not take the support from the RAKYAT for granted and double their effort to serve the people well!
they should perform and deliver the results!

spotted!

last friday night when i was on my way to join my fellow coursemates for a drink at Oldtown Cafe at Section 14, PJ, i saw a few rides parked outside of the Starbucks. it is the Mazda RX-8 Owners Club having their TT over there. when you have a nice car and joined the car club, you would not have the TT at some mamak stalls or tepi jalan. haha (i terasalah~). ok here are some shots of RX-8.

besides those Mazdas, i saw 1 lonely MISTER 2 parked at 1 side, wonder why this mister doing here? showing colours to the MAZDAS?

it is a TOYOTA MR-2

(all these photos are taken using my handphone so the quality is not really good)
