last weekend, i took part in another chinese taoist temple's parade/procession in conjuction of the Anniversary of its main god, Xuan Tian Shang Di. Anniversary of a taoist god can be considered the birthday of the god. this procession was supposed a grand one as it is the first time that this temple to held such festival. this time, i went with my dad after we were given the t-shirts of the festival a few days before the parade (unwillingly accepted the shirts.. haha).
the parade started at 3pm last saturday. we went there a little bit early to see what we can help (actually we do nothing as there were hundreds of people there, too crowded). before the parade started, there were 8 mediums on trance such as mediums of Xuan Tian Shang Di, Hua Kuang Da Di, Pao Shen Da Di, Pan Gu Da Di, Zhong Tan Yuan Suai, Zhang Gong Sheng Juin, Guan Gong (Xie Tian Da Di), Shan Cai Ye/God. it was considered a rare occasion to have so many mediums together and this is the only time i seen such situation by far.
the parade took a route around Malacca which approximated around 10km or more. it ended around 10-11pm. i could not recall the time when it ended as i was dead beat tired. haha. ok let the pictures do the talking.
