Dual Layer Aluminium Radiator

Another view of the the radiator

also DIY installed the transparent cam cover (lousy quality) and it cracked just after a few minutes of usage.. damn.. but never mind, what you paid = what you got..

anyway, my ride now is in rehab mode.. it has been in the rehabilitation center for almost more than a week.. miss it too much.. hopefully she can be discharged ASAP!

Brake got jammed!

last 2 weeks ago, my front left side brake got jammed due to aging rubber brake hose. it started got jammed on the SPRINT Highway near the Seksyen 17 Toll Plaza and i had rev all the way to the nearby petrol station to check what's the problem. upon reaching, the brake pads got burnt and smoke kao kao. jacked the car and to try to spin for the first time but it can't move, suspects that brake caliper jammed. but after a while i tried to spin it again, it can be moved and suspects that it might due to brake hose problem where it can't release the brake fluid back to the reservoir, left the car for a few hours to let it cools down and drive it to the nearest workshop without brakes (i had to use handbrake though).

the next day went to workshop and got the hose changed. then happily drove it to fetch mong mong but the problem came back and haunt me but the impact wasn't as great as the previous one. i had drive it back to the workshop and checked. again spent a day there and got me car back. drive a while but still find the problem there.

no choice. terpaksa drive back to malacca and let mong mong's dad and have a look. after checking, the hoses were fine but the brake master cylinder assembly got leakage, i mean bad leakage (no wonder my brake fluid kept on decrease). fine. got it replaced and got all the brakes bleed. now it's back to normal but somehow i find my brakes now spongy, it's time for steel braided hoses? no money for it as i need fund for the major project that coming soon.

faulty front left side brake hose got removed and the burnt pads were replaced with new ones

the brake hose that gave me hell of a time..

now using IMP Formula Pads. it's cheap as i got it for special price

went back there the next to check what's the problem that caused brake jam again..

faulty brake master cylinder..

bad leakage..

brake fluid corroded the servo..

brake fluid is everywhere

missing wheel cap..

slotted anyone?

first thing i would like to do in the new year and in conjuction with chinese new year, is to pamper my love (my ride but also my mong mong.. hehe). ok this time is the braking system of my bluey. not too long ago, i've fully serviced both front and rear brakes due to overdue services which rendered the brake system in horrid condition. leaked rear brake pumps, front left brake caliper piston got jammed, nescafe-look-alike brake fluid, clogged brake hose..

after fully serviced all four brakes, i'm still not really conviced with it, so, it's time for more performance parts come into it. instead of going for bigger brakes like what others normally would do (which i dislike as there is some customizing job need to be done), i decided to go for slotted disc rotors and better brake pads. the choice? ODK slotted front rotors paired with Ferodo Zero brake pads. the price? don't ask as i'm satisfied with every penny i spent (i earned them k!).

try new engine lubricant, Bardahl Fully Synthetic 5W-40 with Proton Genuine Oil filter

brought those stuff to mong mong's dad shop to fix. also, it's time for a lub change as i preferred to have the oil changed every 3 months although the mileage has not reach 5000km. i was trying out new brand of engine lubricant which is Bardahl Fully Synthetic 5W-40.

the results? the engine is more rev-happy although just tried out for a short distance and my front brakes have not fully seasoned. detailed comment will be out once the brakes have fully run-in! stay tuned for more. (might be a special customized pulley sets in 2 months time? who knows right?)

upon installation. nice grooves!

what's next?

it has been a while that i have not done any major modifications on my slow car. and it is year-end now, i don't think there is anything going on now. so new year resolutions would be improving the engine performance, chassis strengthening, slight exterior make-over in order prepare it for the next HPC or OTD.

some of the stuff i might interested in......

Ported and polished cylinder head with 3-angle cut and flow benched?

semi-racing clutch set?

lightened crank pulley?

stroker kit?

fast road spec/higher profile camshaft?

completely the basic chassis strengthening pieces with this?

ps: i borrowed these photos for reference purposes.. hehe..

front abs replacement

a few weeks back, i noticed my car's front pair absorbers were showing sign of oil leaking. since the absorbers i bought are come with 1 year warranty, so i claimed a pair of new front abs. took it to nearby tyre shop and have it changed. bloody cut throat price but what to do, need to send back the faulty front abs to the seller for claiming process. by the way i'm using full set of improve propex sport abs with improve lowered springs.

the serial no.

new design, without much stickers on it

it comes with the rubber cover to protect the valve

faulty abs

another one

after replaced the faulty abs with the new abs, the front end is much more firmer and finally they got my camber fixed and my front wheels alignment has negative camber. woohoo! however, i really hope that the new front pair of abs won't failed me that soon. if still giving me problem, i will opt for Kayaba RS!

chassis stiffening project

it has been a long time since the last mod on my car. this time, i need to upgrade the handling of my poor iswara. the handling of iswara is well known of. not because of the superb and precision handling but it has the worst handling among all the proton models. it has weak chassis, so i need strengthen it by add fender bars and rear strut bar for better car handling. if you wish to find out more about it, please refer to Ultra Racing Official Website or Skywalker.

the end results are, better handling, the car is more stable and cornering is much more sharper. both of these products are highly recommended for iswara! cheers! again, the money is well spent!

faulty air conditioner system

a few weeks, my car air-cond broke down (total no cold air). this time was leakage problem from the compressor which is one of the component that cost you a bomb. there are a few things in a car's air-cond system that can cost you a bomb are cooling coil, compressor and condenser. all of these items can easily fetch RM200 above per item. so guys better have your car air-cond system serviced regularly.

this time i had my car's air-cond repaired at mong mong's dad workshop. so i can expect a more professional approach instead of a bawah pokok's style of workmanship as her dad is proper trained and certified mechanic for Suzuki Cars.

sent my car there and had the system checked thoroughly. confirmed that the compressor was the culprit. the process was pretty straightforward as just had the faulty compressor replaced by the new one. then, check the pressure in the system before vacuum it in order to check for further leakage. it was followed vacuum the system and recharge the refrigent/freon into the system and jeng jeng, you have icy cold air blowing at your face.

i shall not disclose the total cost of repair but i can assured that his dad is good mechanic. so guys, do not hesistate to send your cars to KIAN NAM MOTOR REPAIRER for servicing.

have my car checked for air cond leakage

the culprit, air cond compressor suffered leakage

the brand new air-cond compressor

Denso Cool Gear ND-OIL 6 to replace the existing oil in the compressor

i was refilling the oil into the compressor

while my car was lifted up for compressor installation, i spotted this, oil leakage from front right absorber?

this is the left side of front absorber, got the sign of oil leakage

new air-cond hose to replace the old loose hose

had new drier installed too

thermometer in the car to monitor the air-cond temperature
