sabah trip part 3 - 5th of june

previously on part 2, we went to Labuan. then the next day most of us bought something from the duty free shop at the Labuan Jetty before we took the last ferry back to KK. bb bought chocolates and i bought JW Swing for dad. oh ya, forgot add on something, i bought some miniature liqour bottles too at the Financial Park in Labuan during Part 2.

now this episode will continue after Labuan Trip. we took 1300 ferry back to KK and again it took us 3 hours plus to reach KK. damn ferry! upon reaching Jesselton Point, we left our bags at Alex's car before heading to Filipino Market on foot.

the following is the journey chart of the day
Labuan jetty->Jesselton Point->Handicraft Market->Filipino Market->Warisan Square->Centre Point->Elsa's place

1 of the most symbolic landmark in KK

we saw this on the way to Filipino Market (so Sabahans, you can park there free for all month long)

there were a lots of fruits stalls nearby

dried seafoods also available at reasonable price

tonnes of souvenirs inside the Handicraft Market

tonnes of T-Shirt also available in the Handicraft Market

then, we proceed to the Filipino Market. this is the wet market

fancy some seaweed?

this is the seafood side!

a row of seafood stalls awaiting you (only Malay style of seafood available!)

next, chicken wings stall.

then, more chickent wings stalls until you are confuse of which stall to buy from

after we toured around the Filipino Markete, we finally decided to have seafood dinner. as you can see, these are the seafood they offered. nice.

after placed our order, we found a place to sit and waiting for our order happily (see how happy am i because i am really starving!)

this is how they BAKAR the seafood

finally our food arrived!

BIG prawns for RM6 each, and i really mean BIG!

bbq fish for RM12

sotong bakar for RM6 per stick!

seaweed for RM1 per bowl

Murtabak (oops forgot how much)

food make us happy~

food make them happy too, especially Cheong Hong

that is me trying out the seaweed

see how big the prawn is, as big as Cheong Hong's fat arm. (oops, did i say it out loud?)

yum yum~

only bones were left behind!

then we decided to tour around nearby areas on feet and big melons were spotted (really big even Pamela Anderson also kalah!)

this is buah salak (taste horrible to me!)

then we dropped by at Warisan Square. this shopping complex is nice and it looks like a smaller version of Bugis Junction.

next we dropped by at the Centre Point. according to Pausa, this place used to the most happening/hot shopping complex in KK and after we went in, it is really hot! (due to air-cond failure)

the sunset in East Malaysia is better than in West Malaysia

after a round of window shopping, we finally called it a day. we walked to a nearby bus stop and wait for a bus back to Taman Kingfisher. and i found something weird, most of the buses here looks like MiniBus back in West Malaysia and they called it Bas Berhenti-henti, weird right? then we paid RM2 for a bus ride home. during the ride home, people can just stop at anywhere they want as according to Elsa, there is no bus stop can be found. so guys, in sabah, you just need to stand by the roadside and the bus will stop for you if there is any bus passes by! haha.

this is Van Berhenti-henti

upon we reached home, some of us went to fetch aho from the airport! finally he is joining us for the Sabah trip!
