this day, we woke up early to embark on an adventure trip to the Sungai Padas for white water rafting. sounds cool right? Elsa helped us to booked for the tour offered by BUSAT (Borneo Ultimate Sports Adventure Tours Sdn. Bhd) and it cost RM180 per pax. the package includes transportation from KK to the Sungai Padas (Pangi, Tenom) and back to KK.
unfortunately i do not have any photos for this days because we did not bring any camera as this is an adventure trip, so valuable stuff are not advisable to bring along.
so i have to post this on words. this is how the adventure trip is
0730hrs Depart from Kota Kinabalu.
0900hrs Arrive in Tenom
1000hrs Trolley to the Starting Point.
1120hrs Arrive Pangi - light refreshment & safety briefing.
1200hrs Rafting on Padas River.
1530hrs Return to Beaufort.
1700hrs Depart to Kota Kinabalu.
ok let me describe Sg Padas a little bit. taken this from the web
"Padas River is situated in the interior of southwestern part of Kota Kinabalu that is only accessible by train. Basically, this trip will give you two experiences advantages - 1) Excursion of Class III-IV river, 2) Get chance for the train ride from Tenom to Pangi.
The adrenaline rush excursion covers a distance of 9km of this rather muddy 200 km river that holds 7 exciting and tough rapids! The 30km white water rafting, making it the longest rafting journey in Borneo.
These rapid carries amusing names such as Merry-Go-Round Rapid, Break Point Rapid, Scooby Doo Rapid, Cobra Rapid, Curve Rapid, Lambada Rapid and Head Hunter Rapid. Each rapid will give you the feel of the motion as what the name means. "
a total 8 of us went for this trip. we divided ourselves into 3 and 5 due to 2 mat sallehs joined us for the trip. me, mong mong, pohching, shiek thing and not forgetting Alex in a raft while cheong hong, aho and meisyn joined the mat sallehs in another raft. a raft can hold maximum 8 person. our instructor of the day named EKILSAN (hope i never spelled wrong his name) haha. he's a nice person to chat with and very friendly.
actually our rafting trip was longer than when Elsa went there. so we roughly spent around 2 hours on rafting. we too managed to conqueored all of the rapids without capsizing our raft.
after the rafting, we carried our stuff into the train and had our lunch in the train (KFC again and some fruits). then upon reaching in Beaufort, we were spared a few minutes to change into dry clothes and return to KK. and most of us slept in the van back to KK. all were dead beat tired!
